Day #36 : Six weeks down and however many left to go!

Día #36 : ¡Seis semanas completadas y quién sabe cuantas más faltan!

I happened upon a portrait of a sand flea while searching for paper to watercolor with.

Day #37 : Between the daily chores and We Banjo 3 live streams, most of the mornings and early afternoons pass by quickly…

I make lunch most days but Dad decided that he wanted to make something slightly out of the ordinary.

Yo hago el almuerzo casi todos los días pero Papá decidió que quería cocinar algo diferente de lo normal.

Lunch was finally ready and it was delicious! It consisted of a mound of rice, thinly sliced tomatoes, and shrimp salad on a slice of avocado, topped with a few sprigs of cilantro.

Por fin estaba listo el almuerzo y estuvo delicioso. Había arroz, tomate, y ensalada de camarón encima de un pedazo de aguacate con unas ramas de culantro.

Day #38 : Because the internet sometimes cuts off around ten, this week has had some earlier bedtimes than the usual midnight or later evenings.

Día #38 : Debido al internet que de vez en cuando se sabe cortar a las diez, esta semana nos hemos acostado más temprano de lo que estamos acostumbrados.

Not sure what’s happening here.

Day #39 : After working out in the morning, I was told of an interesting event that had just occurred.

Día #39 : Después de hacer ejercicio en la mañana, me contaron que algo interesante había sucedido.

Andrés had discovered a giant cornflake! The excitement caused by such a find goes to show the sorry state our minds are in after thirty nine days in quarantine.

¡Andrés descubrió una hojuelota de maíz! La emoción causada por este descubrimiento les demuestra nuestra locura después de treinta y nueve días en cuarentena.

These pieces were the result of my watercoloring adventure today and I sent them with Diego to spice up their wall.

Estas piezas fueron el resultado de mi aventura con acuarelas hoy y les mandé con Diego para que pueda decorar su pared.

Day #40 : Every week of quarantine has brought on a new activity: poker, volleyball, Pokemon… This week’s game is Monopoly and the gaggle of cousins have played it for several afternoons now, shrieking and negotiating away.

Día #40 : Cada semana de la cuarentena hemos descubierto nuevas formas de pasar el tiempo: poker, voley, Pokemon… El juego de esta semana es Monopolio y los primos han jugado en la tarde, gritando y negociando.

Memo is a formidable opponent, though that might just be because he’s at least ten years older than the rest of the players…

Memo sabe mucho sobre el juego, aunque tal vez eso es debido a que él sea por lo menos diez años mayor que los otros jugadores…

Day #41 : Unsurprisingly enough, I spent my day painting and baking. I managed to make some rather delicious carrot bread and produce some pieces of art.

Día #41 : Como siempre, pasé el día pintando y horneando. Hice un delicioso pan de zanahoria y pinté unos cuadros bonitos.

I still need to complete this piece with some stars but I have plenty of time to do that.

Todavía tengo que completar esta pieza con unas estrellas pero tengo más que suficiente tiempo para hacer eso.

Day #42 : The days continue to pass by and I must admit, I want to go home. The thought of being able to wake up and look out on the ocean, a cup of fresh mint tea in my hand- It makes me sad just thinking about it but then I realize that where I am right now isn’t so bad. I can take my cup of coffee to the terrace and look out at an ocean of concrete, the clouds colored by the setting sun, and I can be happy.

Día #42 : Los días siguen pasando y tengo que confesarles que verdaderamente quiero regresar a casa. Pensar que podría estar levantándome a ver el océano con una taza de té de menta en la mano- Me pongo triste cuando pienso en eso pero después me doy cuenta de que donde estoy ahorita no es un lugar malo. Puedo tomar mi café en la terraza y observar un océano de bloque, las nubes coloreadas por el atardecer del sol, y puedo estar feliz.

    I WANT THE/A COPY OF THE HOGWARTS PAINTING!!!!!! It is so cool!
    And yeah, we want you here, too. How is the rest of the family?

    Life is pretty blah at the moment. I have a job interview tomorrow to be a part-time VP at NMS & an administrator for Future Bound (the alternative education program for our 7/8 graders that is housed in our building.) Keep me in your thoughts. I am pretty stressed out about it. I can only do what I can do, but my stomach has been in nots since the interview was scheduled.

      I will be sure to paint you a copy of the painting:) The family is doing well, just trying to stay busy and happy. I know that you’re interview is going to go really well and you are gonna get that job!
