The kittens spend their time either laying about or climbing up the curtains.
Los gatitos pasan su tiempo acostados o escalando las cortinas.
They seem to have taken a liking to this little IKEA rat toy that has lain about the house since my grandmother from Oregon sent it.
Se entretengan con este ratón de peluche de IKEA que regaló mi abuela de Oregon.
Day #30 : My siblings spend most of their mornings and afternoons sitting down and doing their homework. It’s the sad truth but Ecuador’s version of education is to send as many assignments as possible in as little time as possible.
Día #30 : Mis hermanos pasan sus mañanas y tardes sentados, haciendo deberes. Es la triste verdad de la educación ecuatoriana, mandan demasiada tarea para completar en muy poco tiempo.
No wonder Kelpi prefers to build blanket forts instead of doing her homework.
Creo que es por esa razón que la Kelpi prefiere construir sus casitas de cobijas en vez de hacer su tarea.
Sometimes the cousins come up to play in the forts and they’ll even write down plans so they can recreate the fort the next day.
A veces los primos suben a jugar en las casitas y hasta dibujan planes para recrear la casita el siguiente día.
Day #31 : My family has begun a new British comedy series called “My Family” and it has brought us to the verge of tears too many times to count now. Though the episodes can only be found on YouTube, they are well worth the search.
Día #31 : Mi familia empezó a ver una programa británica de comedia, “My Family,” y nos ha hecho reír hasta el punto de llorar. Aunque sólo puedes encontrar los episodios en YouTube, nos divertimos mucho viéndolos.

Day #32 : Friday! A special day indeed, regardless of whether or not I could differentiate it from the rest of the days of the week.

This Friday night was different as it was the first night of Bang Bang Con, a live streaming event done by one of my favorite musical groups, BTS. We made signs and settled down to watch the first of four concerts to be streamed that night.
Este viernes fue diferente porque fue la primera noche de Bang Bang Con, un evento de transmisión en vivo de uno de mis grupos favoritos, BTS. Hasta hicimos carteles y nos sentamos a ver el primer concierto de cuatro esa noche.
Day #33 : Saturday was another day on the inside and the second night of Bang Bang Con. We stayed up for the first concert and then it occurred to me that maybe I should get up to watch the rest on Sunday…
Día #33 : Sábado fue otro día adentro y la segunda noche de Bang Bang Con. Nos quedamos despiertos para el primer concierto y después se me ocurrió levantarme para ver el resto de los conciertos el siguiente día…
Day #34 : I rolled out of bed at six after falling asleep at one, exhausted but eager to watch the rest of the livestream.
We then had a live stream of our own, thanks to the Lincoln City Cultural Center. With Diego as our guest performer, we played a set of songs for our friends and family back in Oregon and Ecuador as well. It was pretty hectic but we made it through and you can check out the performance here.
Día #34 : Me levanté de la cama a las seis después de irme a dormir a la una, cansada pero lista para ver el resto de los conciertos.
Después tuvimos nuestra propia transmisión, gracias al Centro Cultural de Lincoln City. El Diego se presentó con nosotros como invitado especial y tocamos unos temas para nuestros amigos y familia en Oregon y Ecuador también. Fue algo medio caótico pero nos salió bien y puedes ver esa presentación aquí.

Day #35 : Cleaning day! It was sunny for the first time in a while but it was windy enough to be cold. However, I did manage to go up to the roof to read some more of “Sense and Sensibility” by Jane Austen, a surprisingly entertaining novel.
Día #35 : ¡Día de limpieza! Por fin hizo sol hoy pero hacía mucho viento aunque si logre subir a la terraza y leí mi libro “Sense and Sensibility” de Jane Austen, un cuento algo entretenido.

I’m rather proud of myself for being so crafty as to brew my own ginger beer. This is my second round this week and it should be ready to drink tomorrow. The recipe is easy to follow and can be found here.

Life is hectic as all hectic here. Distance Learning For All has proven to be A LOT more work than I thought it would be (silly me!)

My mom is also struggling to adapt to the distance learning here and attempting to teach three year olds over zoom which you can already imagine that chaos. Stay safe and be happy!
