Day #15 : It was hard to believe we were on the third week of quarantine already but the passage of time is evident in the things happening around us.

For example, the kittens are being weaned and now wander around, clambering up couches and legs.

Naturally, we had to do something to celebrate the occasion and what better way to celebrate than by having a tea party in her honor?
Mother and I look rather smug but I think we deserved to be since we made a variety of things to nibble on for tea time.

For our first featured recipe we have the Zany Zucchini Fritters, delicious and eggy.

Next we have the Bodacious Banana Bread, complete with chocolate chips and fresh out the oven.

And finally, Tempting Tuna Salad with Crunchy crackers, a classic.

Happy Birthday Grandma! I know we are really far away right now and things are crazy but knowing you, you will get through it and we will see you again. We love you so much and we’ll have a tea party all together when we get back.

Day #18 : Friday was your average day in quarantine, filled with cleaning, organization, and recording. Our album is still on track to be released by June and with all the time on our hands, we chip away at the tracks and record a little bit every day.
Día #18 : Viernes fue un día normal en cuarentena, lleno de limpieza, organización y grabación. Nuestro album tiene que estar listo para lanzar en junio y con todo el tiempo que tenemos, trabajamos en algo cada día y así vamos grabando poco a poco.
Grabé la parte del charango para un tema y como puedes ver, nuestro arreglo de grabación no es ideal pero estamos haciendo lo que podemos.
Kelpi hizo un pastel de red velvet con merengue y estuvo muy delicioso.

Day #19 : Saturday was filled with unexpected things. For example, Abuelito came upstairs to learn how to make bread with my father, a miracle in of itself.

I never thought I would see the day that I would willingly play Pokemon but there I was, with my little brother, battling it out.
Suffice to say, I was destroyed and I only won one out of four games.
Nunca pensé que iba jugar Pokemon pero allí estaba, con mi hermano menor, en plena batalla.
A la final, sólo gané uno de cuatro juegos contra él.
The girls made art and sketched that afternoon as well.

We wrapped up our evening with a couple rounds of Pokemon and I was Gabriel’s official translator for the match.

Day #20 : More recording sessions and practice happened yesterday and we also watched the hilarious movie that is “The Lego Batman Movie,” which I definitely recommend if you want a good laugh.

Andrés has been putting up these drawings everywhere and I swear more and more go up everyday.

Some days, the terrace is the only thing that keeps me going. Being able to climb up to see the stars when there isn’t a cloud in the sky and breathing in the cool night air is something I never thought I would want for but it is what I need. Some days, my family is the only thing that keeps me going. Being able to walk down the stairs to play voley and laughing to the point of tears with everyone is something I knew I needed but it holds so much more meaning now. Some days it’s only the small things that keep me going. The smell of fresh baked bread in the afternoons and getting one note closer to learning a song, stuff one would never even think about but fill my days and give me hope.
Algunos días, la terraza es la única cosa que me mantiene. El hecho de subir a ver las estrellas cuando no hay ninguna nube y respirar el aire frío de la noche es algo que nunca sabía que iba a querer pero es lo que necesito. Algunos días, mi familia es la única cosa que me mantiene. El hecho de bajar las gradas a jugar voley y reír hasta llorar con todos es algo que sabía que necesitaba pero ahora tiene más sentido que nunca. Algunos días las cosas pequeñas son las únicas cosas que me mantienen. El olor de pan recién horneado en las tardes y aprender una nota más de una canción, son cosas que nadie sabe pensar pero llenan mis días y me dan esperanza.

The kittens are ADORABLE! I also love zucchini fritters. My friend and I make those and also make a dill greek-yogurt dipping sauce and we love it.
And the picture of the grandma making recipes is TOTALLY me. I do not enjoy cooking/baking because I feel like the recipes never turn out! OOH– I love thew new painting with the moon.
And I am starting to “find those small things,” too.
