Día #7 (continuado) : Me olvidé de mencionarlo en la última publicación pero mi mamá cumplió años el lunes pasado. Celebramos con una competencia familiar de baile…

Day #8 : March and April are full of birthdays and Abuelito was the next one in line. For dessert, we made orange jello with fruit since we were still caked out from Sunday’s baking competition.

Día #8 : Marzo y abril están llenos de cumpleaños y ahora le tocó al Abuelito. Para el postre, hicimos gelatina de naranja con fruta porque no nos daba muchas ganas de comer pastel después de la competencia de hornear del domingo.

Day #9 : I’ve been coloring as a way to pass the time so here is another piece of completed art :)))

Día #9 : Para pasar el tiempo se colorear entonces aquí hay otra pieza de arte completada :)))

Day #10 : Thursday was full of ups and downs. It was Gabriel’s birthday and I was going to make dumplings to celebrate. However, around four in the afternoon, something very sad happened. Kiara, the mother of the five kittens and Gabriel’s cat, had been sick all over and wasn’t moving. After half an hour, she was gone. We think she was poisoned because she died after only being visibly sick for a very short time. Everyone was devastated since we were without one cat and we didn’t know how we’d be able to keep the kittens alive. Luckily, we have a relative who is a veterinarian and we called her for advice on how to care for them and they are still alive and well.

Día #10 : Jueves estuvo lleno de cosas buenas y malas. Era el cumpleaños de Gabriel y iba a hacer empanaditas para celebrar. Pero, alrededor de las cuatro de la tarde, algo muy triste ocurrió. Kiara, madre de cinco gatitos y gata del Gabriel, se puso mal y no estaba moviendo. Después de media hora, ya estaba muerta. Creemos que le habían envenenado porque murió después de poco tiempo. Todos estaban muy tristes porque perdimos una gata y no sabíamos cómo íbamos a mantenerles vivos a los gatitos. Por suerte, tenemos un familiar es veterinaria y le preguntamos cómo cuidarles y hasta ahora siguen vivos y sanos.

Day #11 : All I remember from Friday is tuning into Fiddle Friday with Fergal from We Banjo 3 on Facebook. He played some great tunes and I seriously don’t remember anything else.

Día #11 : Lo único que me acuerdo que pasó el viernes es viendo Fiddle Friday con Fergal de We Banjo 3 en Facebook. Tocó unas canciones buenas y en serio, no hay nada más que puedo recordar.

Day #12 : It was dance party time! We Banjo 3 was streaming a concert of theirs on Facebook and boy did we sweat up a storm. We ceili danced along and just had a good time laughing at our made up dance moves. They even brought bagpipes onstage and played “Pressed for Time,” a tune we all know and love.

Día #12 : ¡Era hora de la fiesta de baile! We Banjo 3 pusieron uno de sus conciertos en Facebook y sudamos muchísimo. Bailamos estilo ceili y nos reímos de los pasos que creamos en el momento. Hasta trajeron gaitas escocesas al escenario y tocaron “Pressed for Time,” un tema que todos sabemos.

Day #13 : A lazy day! Actually, I got quite a few things done today, between workouts and making art and bottle-feeding kittens.

Día #13 : ¡Un día de no hacer nada! En realidad hice muchas cosas hoy, hice ejercicio y pinte y les di a comer a los gatitos.

Here are a couple of my watercolor pieces I completed today (the tea cup is my personal favorite though my mom prefers the plants).

Aquí hay unas pinturas que completé hoy día (la taza de té es mi favorito aunque mi mamá prefiere las plantas).

Day #14 : Today we tuned into another live Mando Monday with Martin from We Banjo 3. It was nice to listen to him play and read excerpts of writing while we made lunch and are all grateful that this week we can look forward to all of these opportunities to connect with this group of musicians we know and love. Just last week Martin had commented on the video of my family’s tune and said he would learn it so we could jam together! We were so inspired that we began the process of learning a tune of theirs in return. It’s called “Marry Me Monday,” so stay tuned for that cover…

Día #14 : Hoy vimos otro live de Mando Monday con Martin de We Banjo 3. Nos encantó escucharle tocando música y leyendo partes de obras escritas mientras preparamos el almuerzo y estamos muy agradecidos de tener esta semana llena de oportunidades para conectar con este grupo de músicos que conocemos y apreciamos. La semana pasada Martin comentó en el video de una canción que tocamos entre familia y dijo que iba aprenderla para tocar con nosotros! Nos inspiramos tanto que empezamos el proceso de aprender un tema de ellos que se llama “Marry Me Monday,” y pueden anticipar nuestra rendición en el futuro…
